As a
Control Systems Engineer your role will be,
- To engineer the Substation Control Systems design and configuration for electrical HV substation projects

What you'll be doing
As a
Control Systems Engineer, you will have the following accountabilities:
You will be working with project teams to deliver substation control solutions to specific design briefs with the following expectations.
- Expected to undertake design work relating to substation control systems from the documentation expectations of the client to developing the hardware and software configurations.
- Expected to develop and maintain detailed and quality project documentation that is required by the client both design, implementation and commissioning.
- Working as part of a multifunctional project team you will be expected to report project status etc to project management business functions.
- Expected to manage their own time including identifying and managing project issues and risks offering solutions to mitigate them.
- Expected to Interface with the client for Factory Acceptance Testing of the schemes to be delivered.
- Supporting commissioning teams both remotely and on site. Experience on site within substations would be an advantage.
- Expected to work with procurement to develop and maintain Bills of materials for projects.
Who we're looking for
- Experience of SCADA type systems relating to HMI interfaces, Graphical design, Alarm management.
- Experience with GE and Schweitzer (SEL) products is desired but not essential.
- Experience of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) type systems, Digital and Analogue interfacing knowledge is essential.
- Experience of IP based networking systems. Knowledge of Cyber Security would be an advantage.
- Experience of fieldbus & communication protocols. Specific knowledge of IEC 60870-5-101, IEC 61850 and DNP3 protocol would be desired but not essential.
- Experience with CAD tools and the ability to create electrical schematics.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new software tools as defined by project scope.
- Experience in the Power and Transmission industry would be desired but not essential.
