Amazon’s Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Key job responsibilities
As a stellar Corporate Counsel, you will counsel clients in the implementation of a variety of compliance requirements applicable to the provision of internet access and similar services, such as: ISP-specific billing and customer disclosure requirements, network management rules, public funding programs, interconnection, and regulatory reporting obligations. Prior experience in these areas is a plus. The successful candidate will have strong writing and legal counseling skills, and an insatiable curiosity for learning new technologies and legal issues. Working closely with the Kuiper team and across Amazon, this Corporate Counsel will develop out-of-this-world strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, as well as build processes that address risk and allow Kuiper the flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment even in ambiguous situations.
This position will be based in Sydney, Australia, Earth. Relocation assistance will be provided. Some travel, domestic and international, may be required. No intergalactic travel is yet required.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Law degree and admission to relevant bar association
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience in the communications industry is a plus
