At ‘Boards by A&O Shearman’ we provide board management and governance solutions to our global clients from Belfast and beyond. We are part of A&O Shearman's Global Advanced Delivery & Solutions team. Role purpose
Corporate Governance Professionals lead on the delivery of board management and governance support with a focus on board meeting attendance and minute-taking. This role would be suited to a professional who wants to work for a firm that values excellence and innovation in corporate governance.
This is a part-time position and we are open to discussing working patterns with candidates.

- Partners, counsel and associates across A&O Shearman’s international network
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Deliver board management and governance solutions for a portfolio of international clients
- Attend board meetings (generally virtually)
- Draft meeting minutes and review work product of team members
- Lead internal and external client relationships
- Drive adoption of efficient ways of working through the intelligent use of technology and beyond
- At a more senior level you will also oversee a team of corporate governance and legal professionals
Key Requirements
- Strong academic background.
- At the senior level, Chartered Governance Institute (or international equivalent) qualification and, at the more junior level, Chartered Governance Institute (or international equivalent) membership (working towards a qualification); and/or a qualifying law / finance / governance degree.
- At the senior level, experience in a corporate governance / company secretarial role, ideally within a corporate, legal or regulatory environment.
- At the senior level, proven minute-taking experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and legal technology.
- A professional manner with high levels of commercial awareness, analytical skills and critical thinking.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
