Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation & Budgeting – Developing accurate cost estimates and preparing detailed budgets.
  • Financial Monitoring & Reporting – Tracking expenses, identifying variances, and providing financial reports.
  • Risk Management – Conducting risk assessments and ensuring contingency plans.
  • Cost Control – Implementing cost-saving measures and reviewing contracts for efficiency.
  • Life-Cycle Cost Analysis – Evaluating total ownership costs, including investment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Compliance & Standards – Ensuring adherence to UK regulations, industry standards, and procurement protocols.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration – Working with teams to align cost management with project goals.
  • Data Analysis & Technology Integration – Using advanced tools for cost modelling and forecasting.
  • Strategic Decision Support – Providing financial insights to optimise project outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement – Learning from past projects and staying updated on industry trends.


Key Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Knowledge of project management principles (e.g., PRINCE2, APM frameworks).
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards, such as those set by the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
  • Proficiency, Understanding in cost estimation software (e.g., Primavera P6, SAP, Business Central, or bespoke tools).
