We are a leading law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services across various sectors. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality, client-focused solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled Costs Paralegal with a specialisation in fixed recoverable costs to join our dynamic team.


Your Role and What You'll Be Doing


To provide litigation and administrative support to Costs Team case handlers who provide quality legal costs advice to clients and progress cases in the most efficient manner. The Costs Paralegal will undertake some case handling tasks for case handlers, build a rapport with clients, and provide an excellent level of customer service, becoming an integral part of the Costs Management Team.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:


  • Prepare schedules of costs for negotiations and interim payment requests.
  • Assist fee earners with the preparation of bundles and e-filing of documents with Courts.
  • Prepare narratives for inclusion within client bills, detailing the work done on the case, and handle client billing instructions to the Accounts team.
  • Manage the client journey and experience, including handling enquiries by phone, letter, and email. Provide case updates and progress information.
  • Deal with relevant case correspondence, compose letters on case handler’s request, and respond independently to correspondence.
  • Ensuring all relevant tasks on logged on the case management system and that all team files are in good order and in accordance with agreed practice.
  • Deal with accounts queries and ensure Cost Team records are kept up to date and orderly.
  • Draft documents in line with Court precedents and best practice
  • Assist with BD activities and arrange training where applicable.
  • Achieve time recording targets to ensure profitable working.
