Our dynamic and friendly Financial Operations team are seeking a Credit Controller to join them on a permanent basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the team by managing accounts receivable and ensuring our customers have a smooth and positive experience when it comes to their payments. You will utilise your exceptional communication skills to reach out to customers regarding their accounts, provide them with assistance in understanding their balances, and guide them towards resolution.


Our team are based in the Leeds office and split their time both working in the office and from home.


Responsibilities


  • Manage and maintain accounts receivable for clients to ensure timely payments.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in-person to address outstanding invoices.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Review customer accounts to identify issues and discrepancies in billing.
  • Document all interactions and maintain accurate records of account activities.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve customer inquiries and disputes effectively.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure additional credit control tasks are undertaken.
  • Attend and contribute to credit control team meetings.


What will help you succeed in this role?


Essential


  • Experience in a similar credit control role is preferred OR experience withing a customer service role within the Insurance or Legal sectors
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong time management skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines and targets
  • Proactive / self-starter with a positive can do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Desire for personal and professional development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
