Children's Occupational Therapist
Grade H - £39,513 to £43,693
Permanent, Part Time - 37hrs per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Plymouth City Council’s, Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Children’s Occupational Therapy Team.
Our aim is to make a positive difference and achieve positive outcomes for children, young people (up to the age of 18 years) and their families through assessment, intervention, advice and signposting.
You will carry a varied caseload and work across different settings, including the home, early years and school.
Some experience of working with children, young people and families with complex physical needs & developmental conditions would be beneficial, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Assessment and management of posture/positioning, specialised seating and equipment needs.
- Assessing risk and need for major and minor adaption and specific housing requirements.
- Assessing risk in relation to moving and handling that impacts functional daily living activities and routines, providing advice, guidance and specialised equipment proportionate to identified need.
- Providing information and signposting using a graduated approach to support and intervention, enabling children and young people to access their environments as safely and independently as possible.

We provide support from an experienced and established Occupational Therapy Team; professional mentorship, supervision and structured appraisal systems; access to ‘In Service Training’ and continuing professional development training sessions; integrated and profession specific team meetings.
