Starting salary for this role is £24,790 with the potential of career progression to a maximum of £31,067
The Role
Responsibilities
As a Customer Service Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing them with information, support, and assistance across a wide range of enquiries. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Handling incoming customer enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
- Providing accurate information and advice to customers regarding council services
- Processing requests, applications, and complaints in a timely manner
- Ensuring customer enquiries are resolved at the first point of contact wherever possible
- Maintaining accurate records and data entry using our customer relationship management system
As part of the Customer Service team, you will report to the Customer Services Manager and work closely with other advisors to ensure a consistent and high-quality service is delivered to our customers.
We are looking for individuals who possess the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
- Good problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle difficult situations with empathy
- Organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping
Previous experience in a customer service role is essential, ideally within a public sector or local government environment. A good understanding of the types of enquiries received by a council and how to address them would be advantageous.
