The vacancies are with Kirklees Direct the council’s telephone contact centre. Currently homeworking with Civic Centre 3, Huddersfield as a base.
Your working week will be Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8am and 6pm to meet the needs of the customer. The services we handle enquiries on behalf of include Council Tax, Housing Benefit, Housing Repairs, Adult Social Care, Planning and Building Control, School Admissions, to name but a few.
On a day-to-day basis you will always provide excellent customer service in a positive, sensitive, and respectful manner, adapting your approach as appropriate to ensure equality of access for all. Many of our customers are vulnerable, carry complex set of circumstances and can be demanding about a resolution to their needs. Equally the work can be very rewarding, and many individuals and families will benefit significantly from the advice and guidance you will provide.
You will be required to access various computer systems to retrieve and input information and up-date customer records in accordance with agreed procedures and protocols. You will need accurate keyboard skills with the ability to talk and type and have an understanding of GDPR and confidentiality issues relating to customer information.
Full training will be given to enable you to acquire an in-depth knowledge of relevant services. We work in a culture where we share knowledge and help each other so there is plenty of support there after training.
