The Team

The Triple Point Energy team manages a number of pools of capital, all with a mandate to accelerate the transition to Net Zero. The funds we manage are invested into both debt and equity investments.


Following rapid growth in our lending activities we are seeking a Debt Portfolio Associate to join our growing investment team. The ideal candidate will have a background in debt financing and an understanding of the renewable energy and energy transition sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and sustainable energy, helping to accelerate the global transition to clean energy through innovative financing solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Portfolio Manager with covenant testing on the portfolio
  • Help to proactively monitor the portfolio by applying a targeted and pragmatic approach
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting; to be presented to committee for review
  • Regularly update and provide clear forecasting of project cashflows in line with budget forecasts
  • Conduct financial modelling and analysis of portfolio investments, including cash flow projections, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments
  • Assist in the preparation and approval process of loan waivers requests
  • Take responsibility for loan maintenance and compliance, including preparation of utilisation requests, and repayment schedules among other reporting and maintenance required to comply with group policy
  • Develop and maintain relationships with project developers, sponsors, lawyers, investment teams and other stakeholders
  • Stay current and up to date with market trends, regulatory changes, and technological developments in the finance and energy transition space


Experience

  • Strong financial modelling and analysis skills
  • Sound understanding of debt structures and documentation
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in project finance, investment banking, or private debt ideally with focus on energy/infrastructure
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Growing relationship management and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in renewables and/or storage assets in the UK, and or Europe with a focus in development or project finance portfolio management
  • Experience in writing waiver or restructuring committee papers
  • Experience as an analyst assisting with monitoring the performance of debt investments, including regular reporting and analysis
  • Have a grasp of renewable project commercials, understand project risks and associated management
