What you will be doing:
The role within Galliford Try is as the recognised market expert, translating changes and developments into opportunities for Galliford Try. The successful candidate will work with the business to develop market strategies which capitalise on our USPs and value propositions; and contribute to the business plan.
To inform the strategy and sector development you will monitor competitor activity, and build client relationships to maintain a strong pipeline and win rate. You will be responsible for leading the key client stakeholder engagement, opening up and broadening our relationships. To support this you will develop strategic partnerships with key clients in the market, leading Galliford Try’s contribution to the client’s success and developing sustainable, long-term relationships.
You will support organic growth and retention of current contracts, driving growth in market share, identifying and engaging with new target clients and engage and nurture relationships across the industry which will generate new business opportunities.
A fundamental aspect of the role is to work with the business in particular the Business Development and Pre-construction teams to develop and implement strategies within the sector to deliver improved market share and profit. You will be supported by our internal company sources to research and analyse prospective opportunities, markets, and propositions.
The development of the sector will require you to actively maintain a strong knowledge of the industry, client, sector, and competitor trends. Alongside this will be the responsibility for all market-based planning and activity including margin growth and proposition development, lead marketing campaigns and events, and the development of collateral and other sector material.
You will be an ambassador for the business; attending and speaking at relevant events, developing alliances and partnerships, and leveraging opportunities to build greater awareness of Galliford Try. These activities are all designed so that you can develop our brand and reputation, stimulating the market with insights, thought leadership and innovation.
You will be expected to actively manage the routes to market including all Framework reporting and co-ordinate with Forums within Galliford Try and beyond to ensure delivery of business objectives through effective resourcing and capability development in line with market strategies and long-term plans.
It is important you can monitor and support sector opportunities through to financial and commercial close and successfully lead strategic bids. Ongoing support will be required to ensure client insights and needs are included within our solutions. The role will include being part of the Red/Pink Team Review for sector bids and keeping all stakeholders informed as opportunities progress through the procurement cycle.
The wider elements of the role includes working closely with commercial and finance teams to challenge existing and new costs to produce compelling outcomes, identifying and developing cross selling opportunities across Galliford Try and general duties and ad hoc support to the wider business.
About You:
- Relevant Degree or extensive experience.
- Chartership of relevant professional body desirable.
- Experience in a senior management role
- Excellent sector knowledge
- Relevant security clearances, minimum SC
- Good working knowledge of the following:
- NEC
- JCT
- PPC2000
- Two stage tendering
- Risk management
