Location: Harwell Campus | Hybrid (2 days in the office) | Travel required (Europe, US, Asia)


We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Delivery Lead to join our growing team as we expand our client base and deepen engagements across biotech and pharma. This role is central to delivering cutting-edge scientific and AI/ML-driven solutions to some of the largest pharmaceutical companies globally.

The Delivery Lead will report directly to the leadership team and play a key role in ensuring that complex, multidisciplinary projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality - while supporting a happy, high-performing team

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end project delivery: Accountable for successful execution of internal and external projects across AI/ML, bioinformatics, and scientific domains
  • Agile project management: Use agile methodologies and fast iteration cycles to drive measurable business and scientific outcomes.
  • Team leadership: Lead and motivate cross-functional teams (5–10 people), including internal scientists, data engineers, and external partners
  • Issue and risk escalation: Proactively identify project blockers and escalate risks and issues to the leadership team
  • Stakeholder alignment: Communicate regularly with client sponsors and internal executives, ensuring expectations are managed and outcomes are aligned
  • Scientific collaboration: Translate complex protein engineering and bioinformatics challenges into executable delivery plans and project milestones
  • Partner management: Collaborate with academic institutions and commercial partners to support project execution and innovation
  • Team wellbeing: Foster a positive team culture, support personal growth and development, and ensure high team morale throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Global coordination: Be flexible to coordinate across time zones and travel when necessary to client sites or partner organisations


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading cross-functional teams, ideally in a scientific or techbio setting
  • Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects with scientific and technical components
  • Strong familiarity with project tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, MS Project) and methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2)
  • Experience engaging with external collaborators, including academics, CROs, and pharma stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Passion for scientific innovation and delivery excellence


Desired Skills

Technical:

  • JIRA, MS Project, PRINCE2 or equivalent
  • Familiarity with scientific or computational research environments


Domain Knowledge (preferred but not essential):

  • Protein engineering
  • Structural biology
  • Drug discovery pipelines
  • Bioinformatics or systems biology

What We Offer

  • Salary range £55,000 – 65,000k dependent on experience
