Children’s Home Deputy Manager


Are you an experienced Deputy Children's Home Manager or Senior Residential Support worker looking for a rewarding role in a welcoming and nurturing environment?


We are excited to announce the opening of a brand-new 4 bed children’s residential home dedicated to providing exceptional care and support for vulnerable young people.

We are looking for a dedicated and qualified Deputy Manager for to join us at the start of this exciting new chapter, helping us build a safe, secure, and positive environment for children and young people to thrive.

The Role

As the Deputy Manager, you will:

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the Children’s Home, ensuring compliance with the Children’s Home Regulations 2015, the Quality Standards, and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead by example in creating a caring, supportive environment that respects the rights and individuality of young people, while promoting their independence, privacy, and choice.
  • Foster lasting relationships with young people and engage with internal and external stakeholders, including families, schools, the police, and wider Brent departments.
  • Play a key role in managing staff, supporting team development, and ensuring high standards of care are maintained at all times.
  • Be committed to supporting young people through evening, weekend, waking night and sleep-in shifts as and when required.
  • Contribute to care planning and safeguarding procedures, ensuring that young people receive the best possible care and protection.


The Person

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working in a children's residential home and holds a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), with a willingness to work towards a Level 5 qualification if not already obtained
  • Is passionate about improving the lives of young people and committed to delivering high standards of care and safeguarding.
  • Has excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates a curious, courageous, and kind approach when working with children, their families, and colleagues.
  • Has experience in staff leadership or supervision, and is committed to creating a positive and collaborative working environment.
