We currently have a vacancy for a Design CAD Technician to provide design and technical support for the Marshalls Civils & Drainage product ranges. Primarily focussing on our Linear Drainage products, with an exposure to our Sealed Manhole products, Structural products & Water Management products.

You will produce drawings, renders, calculations and engineering support to a high standard ensuring compliance with Marshalls and wider industry processes and standards.

What's the mission?

You will be responsible for producing designs to a high technical standard, adhering to Marshalls' established design and technical processes. You will utilise your engineering expertise to verify and check colleagues' work, ensuring precision and compliance with technical standards.

Collaboration is essential as you work with the team to meet deadlines, support other design functions, and contribute to the development of Marshalls' design and technical support offerings alongside the Linear Drainage Lead Engineer.

Your role will also involve actively improving and maintaining standard detail drawings and technical design information for our products. You will play a vital part in mentoring and sharing knowledge with less experienced team members and the wider Sales Team.

Additionally, you will represent Marshalls at client meetings, offering technical expertise and support to strengthen sales efforts and client relationships. This dynamic role combines technical proficiency, teamwork, and client interaction to ensure the delivery of exceptional design and engineering services.

What are the Mission Critical Skills needed?

• Experience working within a design and technical environment.
• Ability to work within design standards/codes.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D CAD.
• Ability to communicate and build relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Be able to demonstrate flexibility to adapt and respond to change.
• Self-motivated and proven ability to consistently meet project deadlines.

Desirable:

• Experience in drainage design.
• Qualified to HNC level or higher in civil engineering related subject.
• Ability to produce 3D rendered drawings.
• Experience with BIM software and ability to produce digital models.
