As we expand, we’re seeking a high-calibre Design Director to join us as a key decision-maker and leader, shaping the future of our consultancy with entrepreneurial drive and design expertise.

The Role: Design Director / Practice Lead

Operating within an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EoS), you will act as our Integrator — the steady hand guiding day-to-day operations and translating strategic goals into clear, actionable plans. This leadership role demands a natural completer-finisher with an ownership mindset who thrives on structuring and optimising business operations.

You will:

• Lead and inspire our talented team of technical consultants and designers.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Director to shape and execute growth strategies.
• Drive innovation in design processes and ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
• Influence contract strategy, procurement, and risk management to elevate industry standards.
• Champion flexible, balanced working patterns, including a work-from-home option, centred on London projects. With weekly team meetings at agreed venues.

What We’re Looking For

• Chartered status (RIBA preferred) with a construction-related degree.
• Minimum 5 years post-chartership experience in a leading building or construction consultancy.
• Strong background in design management, defect analysis, and UK construction consultancy contracts.
• Experience in construction monitoring and leading design or technical teams.
• A strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills and a passion for driving business success.
