Design Engineer

OCU Group has experienced continued growth and expansion within the water and wastewater sector. As a result of our ongoing project successes, we are now looking for a skilled designer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with site managers, project managers, quantity surveyors, clients, and other key stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Carryout upfront site surveys
• Carryout desktop study requirements
• Obtaining utility drawings and using clients GIS systems
• Produce PowerPoint presentations / Feasibility reports
• Produce Detail Design drawings on AutoCAD
• Produce Design Risk assessments.
• Produce material lists based on detail designs produced.
• Produce Design changes as required
• Preparing site handover and completion packages.
• Attend meetings both internally and with clients.
• Update design manager or PD on progress of projects

Skills & Experience

• Degree or HND qualified in Construction or Engineering. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
• Can use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook programmes
• Competent using AutoCAD LT 2D
• Awareness of CDM 2015
• Have some knowledge of water / utility industry essential
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Full driving licence essential
