Design Engineer - Body Structures

Position Title: Design Engineer - Body Structures

Duration: Contract

Location: Hybrid Working - Customer location as required in Warwick

Essential Criteria:

• 5+ years of automotive Catia V5 design experience
• Body structures
• Body (BIW / Panels)
• Aluminium castings
• Aluminium extrusions
• A positive, proactive and flexible mindset
• Basic mechanical, material and production knowledge.
• Fluency in English.,
• Good level of technical capability. Familiarity with body structure construction methods and materials, including metals, plastics. Awareness of component manufacturing techniques casting, pressing, extrusion, joining and fastening methods.
• Experience in delivery of engineering releases

Nice to Have Criteria:

• Complex assembly experience
• Ability to work proactively and independently
• Engineering and/or development experience of electric vehicles
• Ability to aid design decisions and issues resolution
• Great attention to detail and an attitude to produce 'right first time' quality work
• Good understanding of mechanical design requirements for typical automotive applications e.g. fastening systems, sealing solutions, manufacturing techniques.
• Understanding of DFMEA and risk assessment techniques in automotive environment
• PC literate and at ease with MS Office products
• Experience of Aluminium body design
