ROLE PURPOSE:
Member of the Network Product Services leadership team working with the Head of Network Product Services. Leads a small team of engineering minded experts focussed on developing, implementing, and running the quality system which underpins end to end network product delivery, from concept to value. Partnering with internal and external service providers to deliver both quality system and supporting test capabilities. As part of the Engineering function the role brings leadership expertise in infrastructure system quality to expert engineering teams operating one of the largest and most sophisticated private networks outside public cloud, which underpins and is critical to the entire business of LSEG.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Define and own quality strategy, system and execution framework for network product portfolio and dependencies
- Define and lead the implementation of quality gates, acceptance criteria and hold the network development team accountable to expected quality level
- Elicit and maintain roadmap of test platform features needed to support product delivery, providing options to LT for sourcing, allocating and managing Test platforms
- Instil customer-centric attitude and ensure success of test platform consumers
- Define, measure and report critical metrics for quality system
- Govern quality effectiveness, highlighting gaps and collaborating with leadership team on remediation
- Sign off on test process and test outcomes
- Ensure test results sign-off meet the proper ownership and quality assurance governance policies and standards
- Review and approve test plans to ensure alignment to strategy, standards, and environment capability
- Articulate the purpose, capability and capacity of shared dev and test environments with regular reports
- Ensure timely provision of required infrastructure, services, and tooling to support network product roadmap
- Develop requirements for test tooling and frameworks in collaboration with product engineering teams
- Inspire and enact continuous improvement of test platform capabilities and practices
- Manage requirements and service level delivered by 3d parties delivering test execution or test environments
- Channel expert advice to engineering teams on effective quality methods with strong emphasis on automation
- Lead and develop a small team focussed on product quality and release management engineering
- Provide thought leadership for Test platform transformation to enable Test platform as a service, along with other industry standard methodologies
- Articulate complex / technical information in an audience-appropriate formats
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering attitude with broad experience across financial market technology platforms
- Rich experience in defining, leading, implementing test framework, test standard, test tools and quality gates for large scale product.
- Rich experience in defining, leading, implementing test environment strategy (Dev, PPE, PPIE).
- Extensive direct experience leading the build and test of network product platforms with complex infrastructure
- Understanding of financial market customers
- Understanding of front-line engagement with customers and approach to manage “seamless” changes to business-critical services
- Technical knowledge of real-time market data system including non-functional infrastructure testing
- Significant knowledge of global WAN technologies which deliver real-time data and customer connectivity
- Solid technical background with considerable experience in complex, business critical systems and networks
- Confidence, born of experience and ability, to steer and challenge senior colleagues and partners
- Demonstrable experience co-ordinating or working with global Quality Assurance teams.
- Expertise in non-functional system test processes and mechanisms for networked financial market systems
- Practical experience building infrastructure and automation systems using industry standard protocols
- Significant people leadership skills in large organisation
- Strong relationship management skills working with business partners.
- 10+ years of experience with large-scale business critical platform or services in Tier 1 investment banks, financial institutions, or financial data vendors. Candidates with similar experience in other industries will be considered
- Flexible work approach to support programme delivery and service risk objectives when needed
