As the Director of IT, you will

• be accountable for overseeing the organization’s IT strategy, governance, and operations to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology services.
• ensure that IT systems align with business objectives while optimizing costs, enhancing security, and maintaining compliance.
• focus on IT governance, service management, vendor oversight, and risk management, with an emphasis on optimizing outsourced IT operations.
• play a critical role in fostering a culture of technological advancement to drive digital transformation and enhance business performance.
• Ensure alignment of all strategic development activities with the organization's short and long-term goals.
  
  

What you’ll do:

• Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Oversee IT infrastructure including asset management, enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, LMS etc), cloud services, and cybersecurity to secure service delivery to business and to maintain business continuity.
• Ensure that all IT systems comply with regulatory and security standards, mitigating risks related to data protection and cyber threats.
• Manage relationships with IT vendors, negotiate contracts, and control IT budgets to optimize costs and efficiency.
• Support the organisation by leveraging technology to improve operational processes, automation, and efficiency.
• Work closely with the Director of Digital Transformation to ensure digital initiatives are securely and efficiently integrated with the company’s IT landscape.
  
  

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and external service providers
• Experience in aligning IT strategy with evolving business and digital transformation needs
• Expertise in IT governance
• Experience in IT service management, and vendor management within a managed services environment
• Experience implementing cybersecurity and risk management strategies
• Business leadership knowledge, or potential to develop this
• Knowledge of enterprise IT systems, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity frameworks
• Ability to align IT strategy with evolving business objectives and digital transformation initiatives
• A commercial mindset with the ability to work strategically with partners and suppliers to optimize costs and efficiencies
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to manage vendors, contracts, and budget control exceeding £5m.
