The Role

As Director of Strategy within Global Distribution and Product, you will work with a wide variety of stakeholders to help define M&G’s distribution strategy. This will be achieved by driving objective analysis, developing contextualised market and client insights, mapping to M&G’s investment capabilities and communicating effectively in support of informed business decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead distribution strategy projects and business cases – E.g. New market / Channel entry, partnerships, and other key growth initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Market Intelligence team to enhance analysis and distil insights on market trends and competitor strategies and provide insights on industry dynamics to inform the broader asset management business strategy and proposition.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align distribution strategies with corporate goals.
  • Work closely with Distribution Country Heads to understand, articulate and shape country level strategy and priorities, as part of the annual planning cycle and at periodic review points through the year, including opportunities to develop deeper client partnerships.
  • Understand priority investment strategies at country & channel level and consolidate and communicate this to the wider business.
  • Work closely with the COO & HoS for Global Distribution & Product, the Investment team COOs, and Product leads to shape immediate priorities and future proposition, and address emerging challenges and developments

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience and understanding of investment management or financial services. Experience in working within Strategy, Distribution and/or Product functions desirable
  • Proven record in developing and implementing strategy.
  • Strong understanding of asset management market trends and competitive landscape
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects independently, with a proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive initiatives to successful completion
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong visualisation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to clearly articulate concepts and ideas.
  • Experience of managing a range of senior level stakeholders, developing strong working relationships with the business at executive level
  • Commercial acumen and intellectual curiosity
  • Confident using MS Office, particularly PowerPoint & Excel
