The Operations Leader is a member of the Directorate leadership team and is responsible for the management and co-ordination of operational activities of the Directorate, planning and anticipating activities for the team, leading on cross department special projects.
About You
Leadership Provide leadership to ensure NPL’s mission, strategy and plans are articulated and understood internally and externally for your areas of the business, that employees and partners are excited by, engaged with and focussed on its successful delivery to maximise impact & growth Manage the performance and potential of your team, building highly motivated, customer focused and performing teams
Governance, Efficiency & Effectives
- Ensure compliance with appropriate internal and external governance including quality, health, safety, security and environmental legislation minimising risk to the business and enhancing NPL’s reputation
- Manage the operational planning for the Directorate with the Director and embed the plan with the leadership team, including costs and financial targets aligned to the strategic plan
- Help define and implement growth targets
- Define and monitor appropriate MI for targets and budgets for Directorate
- Communicate with the team and embed best practice by working with Department Heads Identify opportunities to lead continuous improvement in all aspects of operational activities within the Directorate
Relationship Building
- Build and maintain customer and stakeholder relationships that will support NPL’s ability to deliver its mission, its reputation and remain sustainable
- Work with leadership colleagues to be one NPL. Ensure you/your team are working effectively together with relevant parts of the organisation
- Work with leadership colleagues to define the deliverables of cross-directorate initiatives such as submissions to Spending Review and Capability Reviews
