The Department
A&O Shearmans Advanced Delivery Legal (ADL) department plays an increasing role in delivering important elements of major litigation cases and transactions, as well as in coordinating teams of lawyers from around the world. ADL is a key part of A&O Shearmans advanced delivery of legal services to its clients, making intelligent use of technology and complementing the traditional law services provided by A&O Shearman throughout the world. The Role
We are seeking a
Document Review Manager to join our Belfast office on a full-time, permanent basis. The Document Review Management (DRM) team support scoping, structuring and delivery of document review, including identifying threats and opportunities throughout the course of the review. The DRM team also support the Advanced Delivery Legal (ADL) Disputes team with the development of the Disputes Practice Group.
In this role, you will support the Document Review Senior Manager (DRSM) and play a crucial role in scoping reviews, cost and resource modeling, and ensuring the quality and consistency of document reviews. You will also report to senior leadership where appropriate.
What You Will Do
- Assist in cost and resource modelling aligned with the defined scope of reviews.
- Scope, define and manage deliverables, including identifying and managing risks and scope creep.
- Design, support and record the review methodology, including quality assurance and efficient use of technology.
- Ongoing monitoring and development of the Disputes document review delivery model.
- Establish and maintain solid working relationships with eDiscovery and wider Advanced Delivery teams.
- Maintain industry-specific knowledge through training, A&O Shearman courses and attendance at software demonstrations and other industry events.
- Establish A&O Shearman network relationships by jurisdiction and seek new, or advance existing, lines of service.
- Collate and analyse data to support the operating model for Disputes.
- Continue to refine, augment and challenge existing ways of working.
- Deliver training in person and virtually.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Qualified solicitor or non-qualified legal professional with equivalent experience in an international law firm or professional services environment, specifically with a background in Disputes law and document review management.
- Experience in managing document review processes with an advanced knowledge of Relativity.
- Experience in Microsoft suite Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel with ability to present data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to consult and engage with stakeholders at various levels.
- Process-driven with the ability to implement process improvement and drive-change across the business.
- Good attention to detail.
- Proficiency in other relevant Legal Technology tools and an interest in AI.
- Strong organisational skills, with ability prioritize tasks effectively to meet key deadlines.
- Previous experience in project management and workflow design would be desirable.
- Willingness to travel to other offices across the network on an ad-hoc basis to build relationships and deliver training.
