The Opportunity:
Primary Objectives:
The primary focus of this role is the positioning of our brand as a market leading employer in the UK early careers market and the creation and execution of a best in class, end to end, attraction campaign. This will involve innovating and advising in relation to:
- Social Media campaigns and presence
- Communication of our Employer Brand
- Recruitment Marketing Materials
- Event marketing campaigns (across website, social, email, print and digital channels) and event organisation and the marketing communications around the events.

The Team
- The team are responsible for recruiting over 60 trainee solicitors per annum, as well as 2 solicitor apprentices and 100-120 vacation placement students.
- This role will offer scope for creativity, initiative and personal development and is an exciting position within this high performing and well-established team. The role requires good delegation skills as the successful candidate will be supported by assistants.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing
- You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to brief and build campaigns, seeking to increase overall brand awareness as an employer of choice as well as delivering an application pool that reflects the quality and diversity expected by the firm.
- Annually review our marketing strategy to ensure we are going to the right universities and schools and running the most effective strategy to attract top talent.
- Deliver innovative, market leading and effective content campaigns including development of all content including video, podcasts, photography, website.
- Work with internal stakeholders and our media agency to develop a marketing and outreach strategy for our new Solicitor Apprenticeship programme, ensuring that we have a clear message to convey our offering and that we attract a wide pool of diverse applicants. Management and creation of recruitment merchandise and campus collateral.
- Responsible for the development of all graduate talent award submissions.
- Create and manage annual High Fliers campaign with a view to increasing HSF's ranking in the Times Top 100 Graduate Employers list.
Social Media
- Manage the Early Careers Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn account. Including content development, responding to queries and regular review of channel suitability, exploring options such as TikTok.
- Manage the paid and organic channels and deliver best-in-class creative execution, including regularly reviewing collaborations with micro and macro influencers.
- Management of our campus ambassadors to ensure they are effectively promoting opportunities and creating content.
Media
- Management of media suppliers such as Bright Network, Gradcracker, Legal Cheek. Including ensuring our profiles are updated, the copy and tone of voice reflect the EVP.
- Lead on annual review of media partners and budget allocation to ensure we reach our target audiences and see a high ROI.
- Manage and maintain the firm's brand image across all paid media, ensuring we adhere to Brand guidelines for both copy and visual content.
Content creation
- Creation of relevant and engaging digital content to be published on various digital platforms, ensuring all usage right agreements are in place and approval processes have been followed. Digital platforms include the early careers website, media partners, social media and internal notice boards.
- Create and manage a monthly social media communications plan to build interest in HSF and strengthen our position as employer of choice for school leavers and graduates.
- Work with the internal brand team and in-house video team as well as external suppliers to generate assets, imagery, videos, podcasts to be published on our digital platforms.
EVP
- Working closely with the Brand Comms & Marketing, HR and D&I teams to bring our EVP and brand narrative to life by sharing experiences, representing our diversity agenda and promoting support.
- You will ensure adherence and consistent delivery of our EVP and you will weave this into print and digital materials. You will work on identifying what makes it attractive to candidates; highlighting key differentiators; leveraging candidate-facing communications, social media, and video to convey the corporate culture and employee experience; developing and projecting the employee value proposition.
- Campaign measurement and regular reporting
- Oversee regular reporting and analysis to monitor the overall performance of campaigns and ensure we are effectively tracking performance and ROI of our overall digital marketing spend.
- Understand the direct competitive environment from an early careers perspective and apply analysis and insights to gain competitive advantage.
- Keep up to date with market trends and emerging digital tools and platforms.
Other responsibilities
- Attending regular on-campus events throughout the milkround season (October to December) and during the High Fliers campaign in January/February. This includes evening events and a need to stay overnight at times.
- Management of the marketing budget including management of the invoices.
- Assist the Early Careers team with application screening, provision of support at assessment centres and vacation schemes.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Essential
- Marketing and social media experience either gained at an employer brand agency or inhouse at a law firm or in professional services
- Proven experience in campaign and project management
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, dealing with high volume and delivering on several campaigns at any given time
- An expert user of social media including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok
- Experience across social media (paid and organic), website and CRM
- Copywriting, campaign and content creation experience, including delivery across multiple social media platforms
- Experience of reporting and analysis and ability to decipher campaign data and interpret wider insights
- Ability to determine and optimise ROI in relation to marketing and social media spend
- Experience of managing external agencies and suppliers
