In this role you will be making a difference by providing full, comprehensive support to the management of elective patient admissions, including the management of all clerical staff within the service across a given number of specialities.
You will be liaising with clinicians and managers to ensure patient access targets are adhered to in accordance with Trust Policy and National Guidance.
You'll be working independently within the team whilst providing line management support to the Senior/Booking Coordinators and Booking Assistants.
There will be the opportunity to develop and implement improvements in the processes within Elective Admissions. You will be monitoring progress of team members and ensuring that booking processes are adhered to.
Be responsible for the operational management of a given team of Booking Co-ordinators
To ensure an appropriate level of admin and clerical support is maintained at all times by co-ordinating and monitoring requests for annual/study leave and managing sickness absences. This will include maintaining accurate leave records for each staff member.

Be involved in the recruitment of new staff (short-listing, interviewing and selection of candidate)
Be involved in the initiation and subsequent training of newly appointed staff.
Identify any performance management issues i.e. conduct, poor performance etc.
Undertake staff appraisals in conjunction with the Elective Admissions Manager to identify development and training needs.
Attend regular meetings with other Elective Admissions staff and ensure that information is cascaded to Senior/Booking Co-ordinators as required.
