Job Description
Vialto Partners is seeking a Finance Director to join our team for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Asia) region, responsible for 22 territories. As a key part of the senior leadership team for the region you will be responsible for monitoring financial performance, control of working capital, providing analysis to drive effective decision making, financial planning and maintenance of effective financial controls.
You will act as the key business partner to the regional CEO and work closely with the Europe CFO on actions to improve financial performance and deliver the Group’s strategic agenda.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
Performance reporting
- Review monthly territory performance against budget and forecast, investigate variances, develop action plans to address shortfalls and ensure their delivery.
- Prepare the monthly Regional Operating review in partnership with the regional CEO and present the detail on financial performance.
- Monitor in-month performance against key metrics such as revenue, billing and collections goals. Work with territory leaders and individual partners to agree and implement actions to close any expected shortfalls.
- Review actual monthly performance with territory leaders to identify issues and trends.
- Support month-end and year-end closing to fulfill both internal reporting and external statutory reporting.
- Develop reporting tools and metrics to deliver a holistic view of performance for the regional CEO and their team, such as recurring revenue %s, normalised utilisation %s.
- Deliver ad-hoc analysis and projects as requested by Regional CEO or Europe CFO.
Financial planning & analysis
- Coordinate all activity for annual budgets, periodic forecasting, and business plan updates.
- Perform detailed review with territory leaders of their forecast and actual performance. Help with the narrative underpinning any changes in outcomes, challenge assumptions and conclusions to ensure delivery of robust plans. Capture, review and assess inputs on risks and opportunities to provide insight into downside and upside outcomes.
- Design and build EMEA region strategic financial model to assess "What If" scenarios for the regional CEO.
- Identify and monitor territory risks and opportunities and actions to mitigate.
- Liaise with the Group on all FP&A activities and ensure all submissions are high quality and delivered on time.
- Provide the regional CEO with support on strategic initiatives such as Revenue Growth, Cost & Working Capital Optimisation.
Governance
- Ensure working capital is minimised through continuous review of the levels of work in progress and accounts receivable. Identify and deliver opportunities for improvement in the billing and collection cycles.
- Carry out regular reviews of work in progress reconciliations, setting of recovery rates and client profitability.
- Implement "mini" WIP attestation review process to focus on large, aged WIP balances to ensure actions taken to invoice and recover.
- Continuously improve, in partnership with the wider finance team, the quality, integrity and understanding of financial data.
- Improve the quality of data used within the organisation in partnership with IT and other finance teams.
- Investigate and resolve any finance or admin queries raised by the territory team, working with other finance departments and IT.
- Collaborate with Group functions such as Legal, Tax and HR on regulatory and statutory compliance when required.
- Provide support for audits, including both internal and external, when required.
- Ensure local compliance with all Group policies and processes, reporting all material issues or non-compliance to Europe CFO or Group.
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant with 5 – 10 years PQE.
Significant experience in Financial Planning & Analysis.
Strong business acumen and focus on working capital management.
Practical and commercial approach to problem solving and analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proactive; always a self-starter.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Collaborative and diplomatic approach when dealing with Business Leadership, the Controller organization, Treasury, Tax, IT, or colleagues.
Able to leverage available technology tools.
