Role Overview


This is a hands-on role responsible for actively creating, managing, and delivering internal communications and engagement plans during a particularly busy period. The role will primarily focus on:

  • Investec Bank PLC: 90% of responsibilities
  • Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I UK): 10% of responsibilities. Please note that IW&I is now part of Rathbones PLC following a recent combination in 2023. Some day-to-day responsibilities will remain within our remit as part of a transitional agreement to ensure continuity of employee experience.


Key Responsibilities

Employee Engagement

  • Deliver internal communications and engagement plans that keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with the business strategy.

Campaign Management

  • Manage multi-channel campaigns end-to-end, including stakeholder management, communications planning, content creation, and delivery through various channels such as email, video, newsletters, intranet content, and staff town halls.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to advise and support them in achieving their internal communications objectives.

Strategic Initiatives

  • Drive progress on key strategic initiatives as we evolve our internal communications approach.

Thought Leadership

  • Provide insights and thought leadership on external best practices in communications.

Performance Measurement

  • Measure the outcomes of internal communications initiatives against quantitative and qualitative targets, identifying key measures of success and adapting strategies as needed.

Team Collaboration

  • Actively participate as a member of the communications team, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Alignment with Marketing

  • Collaborate with the broader marketing team to ensure that internal and external communications are aligned, driving consistency within the broader Investec Group to streamline activities.


Core Skills and Knowledge

The successful candidate will:

  • Have strong experience in internal communications within a global or large company.
  • Demonstrate excellent business partnering skills to work closely with senior leadership, creating action plans and maintaining momentum to ensure engagement activities support the broader business strategy.
  • Possess strong writing skills, with the ability to compose a variety of communications in different styles.
  • Be a confident communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Be flexible and agile, adept at balancing priorities and moving forward effectively.
  • Be eager to test outcomes through quantitative and qualitative methods and ready to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Be creative, collaborative, and willing to contribute innovative ideas.
  • Be a proactive and driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently meets deadlines.
  • Act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating clients fairly.


Additional Attributes (Helpful but Not Essential)

  • Experience with Dotdigital or a similar email management platform would be advantageous.
