We are currently looking to appoint to an Endoscopy Academy Senior Clinical Fellow post in the Gastroenterology team. The appointment is for a period of 12 months, commencing 6th August 2025. The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a ‘training post’, full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required.

- Supervise, monitor and assist the CMT and foundation trainees (F1 and F2) in the day-to-day management of patients.
- Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives, and senior medical staff.
- Attend and participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics as timetabled.
- Take part in rostered emergency medical work (GIM rota based NGH and/or RHH).
- Take part in SpR speciality rota for inpatient reviews.
- Maintain continued professional development.
- Attend weekly educational and multidisciplinary sessions.
- Undertake audit (as appropriate).
- Teach student doctors as directed.
- Attend appropriate induction in each hospital and new department.
- Undertake all necessary mandatory training.
- Comply with all local policies including dress code, annual and study leave.
The Northern General Hospital is the home of the City’s Accident and Emergency department which is also now one of three adult Major Trauma Centres for the Yorkshire and Humber region. It also has a gastroenterology department, a large tropical medicine and infectious diseases unit as well as a specialist haematology centre and other medical and surgical services.
