In this role, you work in our Back Office department, which is responsible for the trade lifecycle management of all deals concluded by our commodity traders. This includes sending out deal confirmations, managing margin and collateral payments, controlling balancing group accounts as well as sending out invoices and settling deals. While performing these tasks, we are responsible for providing a comprehensive and quality checked control within the trade lifecycle process across Front Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance, Accounting and Legal.
We have a diverse commodity portfolio including power, gas emission certificates, renewables, LNG, freight, weather, chrome and biomass. The Company is also responsible for the commercial optimisation of RWE’s entire asset business. We offer large industrial companies and trading partners trading-based portfolio management, long-term supply contracts and risk management solutions

About The Role
The Primary focus of the role is to perform operational activities accurately with meticulous attention to detail and limited operational risk to the business.
Operational activities include:
- Conducting essential daily checks to ensure all trades have been captured accurately in the trading and Ops systems. These checks include raising any discrepancies with the traders or Ops teams and performing any trade amendments as required
- Timely settlement of contracts according to contractual timeframes, including chasing any outstanding payments and providing an update to the Ops team
- Assisting with any ad hoc report requests using data from Endur
- Dealing with new unique/complex challenges, and structuring and documenting these so that other team members can take over
- Proactively identifying process improvements and driving these forward within the team by arranging show and tell sessions and where appropriate, keeping our stakeholders informed
Your profile
- Excellent communication skills as there is daily contact with the Traders, Operators, Finance as well as Back Office teams in Singapore and Swindon
- Well-organised and capable of working to tight time-scales. On a daily basis you will need to be able to reprioritise your daily tasks to meet operational deadlines
- Driven and must be a catalyst for change
- Enthusiastic problem solver with meticulous attention to detail
- Committed to team working with good interpersonal skills
- Commercially aware and flexible in a changing work environment
- Degree educated or equivalent
- Intermediate Microsoft knowledge (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) essential.
- Basic knowledge of IT software (ENDUR and SAP)
- Data analysis skills using Python to improve existing processes
Advantageous, But Not Essential
- A good understanding of physical commodity trading and the deal lifecycle would be advantageous, but not essential
