Description

Key Responsibilities
- Stay abreast of engineering standards, regulations, and industry best practices. Implement and maintain drawing standards to ensure consistency and quality across engineering documentation.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) to create accurate and detailed engineering drawings. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate design concepts into precise technical drawings.
- Establish and maintain document control procedures to manage revisions, approvals, and distribution of engineering drawings. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely documentation updates.
- Uphold stringent quality standards in the development of engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with design intent. Participate in design reviews and collaborate with design engineers to resolve any discrepancies.
- Tolerance Specialist, advising all design functions on Datums, Tolerance characteristics and sizing.
- Checking and signing off drawings for all design functions.
- Develop and deliver dedicated GD&T training courses.
- Develop Engineering Methods and Processes in line with best practice and BS/ASME Standards.
- Advised on design best practise for both processes and related engineering requirements.
- Defining and managing Weld, Bonds and Fluids to deliver correct product volume, mass, cost and manufacturing information.
- Assisted the update and definition of primary engineering design Standards for 3D Parts and Assemblies, 2D Drawing requirements and the PLM Environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in the creation and development of engineering drawings within the automotive or engineering sector.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and in-depth knowledge of engineering standards and drawing practices.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in developing and reviewing technical drawings.
