We are looking for a skilled Engineering Team Lead to join our Advanced Materials team.
Job Purpose
This exciting new role involves leading a small but growing team of engineering specialists operating across our facilities. We have state of the art equipment used by our scientific team to help solve tomorrows material challenges; therefore, it is vital that we have a dynamic Engineering Team Lead to provide an efficient support service to the technical team across both UK sites. Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside our scientific technical delivery team to design and implement engineering solutions for one off trials/test rigs.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager in securing appropriate parts for new technology process development.
- Lead inhouse equipment fault triage activities, resulting in timely resolution.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is well-maintained and operational for maximum efficiency across both UK sites.
- Conduct performance reviews, set objectives, and provide support to enhance team capabilities.
- Oversee contractor health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations.

- 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday
- Onsite at our office in Stone, Staffordshire, with travel to our site in Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent

Qualifications
- Degree/equivalent in Engineering or experience.
- Relevant electrical qualification (e.g., Electrical Installation Certificate or Diploma, or similar)
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
- Highly proficient IT skills.
- Training and/or experience in a team leader role, or similar.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
- Experience of managing small capital projects.
- Mechanical engineering experience.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Leadership experience, with the ability to engage, motivate, and develop team members.
- Ability to plan and organise a team effectively.
- Project management expertise.
- Strong supplier networking capabilities.
- Commercial awareness and customer focus.
- Independent work capability with a high degree of autonomy.
- Proficient in risk assessments and H&S process management.
- Experience in the use of a CAD package beneficial.
