We are seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our Enterprise Data Management Team. In this role you will define, establish and continuously evolve data governance strategies, enabling the business to leverage trusted data to achieve strategic goals. Collaborating with colleagues across the UK organisation, you will develop and implement data governance strategy, policies, standards, processes, technology, roles and responsibilities. You will also drive cultural change to make data a strategic business asset and improve data literacy.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the Enterprise Data Governance capability within Enterprise Data Management, collaborating with other Enterprise Data capabilities.
- Own and lead the Enterprise Data, Analytics, and AI Governance strategy, aligning with enterprise data and business strategies to enable the business to become data driven.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and HQ data governance requirements, acting as the UK single point of contact (SPOC) for Enterprise Data Governance.
- Embed Data Governance within change delivery frameworks, software development lifecycle and data architecture.
- Partner with Data Governance role holders to establish enterprise-wide ownership and effective management of critical data assets.
- Implement Enterprise Data Governance technology that supports effective data asset management and enables the business to benefit from the technologies through training and ongoing support.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience leading a team or large, multi-functional teams and achieving results through people.
- Experience driving performance through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Significant experience defining and implementing enterprise Data Governance.
- Experience managing and reporting to internal and external stakeholders at senior levels.
- Experience working within an Enterprise Data Management capability (data governance, data product teams, data architecture, data engineering, data platforms).
- Knowledge of European and UK data-related regulatory requirements and emerging trends.
- Qualification in data management or data governance (e.g., DAMA CDMP).
- Knowledge and experience in agile delivery and data strategy.

Hybrid Working:
As part of our hybrid working arrangements, we are giving our colleagues the opportunity to work a minimum of one day in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected, and you can work in the office more if you'd prefer. The hybrid working policy can be applied differently at departmental level as the role requires. We would also expect new colleagues joining us to work from the office for the entirety of their training period until competent in role.
