The Project
We are hiring for an ESG compliance and reporting lead to help navigate a credible and industry leading position for the business in response to global ESG and sustainability related principles, frameworks and reporting requirements. This leadership role will report directly to the group sustainability director, while also working closely with other relevant function leaders and global teams.
You’ll Be Responsible For
- Working with business leaders and global teams across functions and geographies to help shape, drive and execute Mace’s vision, strategy and approach to ESG and sustainability policies, compliance and reporting.
- Providing deep expertise and acting as a thought leader on ESG and sustainability-related risk, compliance and reporting topics, trends, risks and opportunities.
- Guiding and advising the business to maintain a credible and industry leading position in response to ESG and sustainability related issues.
- Leveraging global horizon scanning to appropriately respond to the fast-paced and evolving global ESG and sustainability compliance landscape, related to regulatory, voluntary and internal principles, frameworks and reporting requirements.
- Providing expert guidance to navigate and resolve highly complex and sensitive escalation issues involving ESG topics, making recommendations and enabling the group board to make informed decisions on ESG issues.
- Leading risk assessments and developing maturity of internal controls and governance related to ESG and sustainability compliance, including updates to policies, procedures and data collection/management tools.
- Supporting all strategy and implementation related to corporate ESG policies, compliance and reporting. Including leading compliance related policy updates, training and reporting, and ensuring activities are successfully embedded into business operations.
- Leading the production of internal and external ESG and sustainability related reporting, including TCFD, CSRD, IFRS, CDP and Ecovadis.
- Oversight of the collection, reporting and credibility of sustainability and ESG data.
- Working with an existing team of experts and SMEs to provide data and drive insights for ongoing compliance, identifying interventions for any non-conformance or performance improvements.
You’ll Need To Have
- Expert knowledge of ESG and sustainability related principles, frameworks and best practice. Including current and emerging regulatory requirements, global frameworks, and reporting initiatives (i.e. TCFD, CSRD, IFRS, CDP, GRI, GHG accounting and climate transition planning), and how they apply to business strategy, operations and supply chain.
- Experience presenting at the C-Suite level, with demonstrated ability to interact with and influence leadership as a peer and operate as an integral member of a cross-functional team collaborating in a complex organisation.
- Ability to manage multiple perspectives while working towards a coordinated solution, and comfort navigating ambiguous situations with thoughtfulness and pragmatism.
- Ability to pivot between big-picture strategy and detail orientation as needed, and highly analytical with a capability to translate complex data into actionable insights and solutions.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and project management skills.
