We are looking for a new ESG Regulatory and Climate Risk Director, who will be responsible for delivering ESG audit, assurance & technical requirements to clients. The understanding of regulatory frameworks including TCFD, GRI & UNSDG are fundamental. Understanding of, and alignment to, FRS102 & FRC Guidance is also key to the role. In addition, the successful candidate will be supporting the wider ESG team with the implementation of our advisory sustainability service development and the Journey to Net Zero (internally). This is a secondary priority to the Risk, audit & Assurance requirements for clients. A key element of the role is audit of listed and PIE regulated entities. MHA is one of the main auditors of listed and PIE entities in the UK.


Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver & review client work to ensure that the jobs are completed efficiently and effectively by allocating the resources available.
  • Ensure the ESG Service within Audit regulatory & Audit Risk aligns with clients, where appropriate, to establish the events that have had an impact on their business and any areas needing particular attention. (Priority to Listed Entities & PIE in the first instance).
  • Be up to date on all aspects of TCFD Guidance and related Climate Risk disclosures. This Includes EU Linkage and the wider Taxonomy landscape.
  • Review all work received as soon as possible (on all aspects of ESG Delivery), ensuring that any issues arising are referred to the relevant staff for completion before any outstanding issues are drawn to the attention of the Partner. (This includes the assurance on advisory ESG Delivery).


Qualifications

  • Up to date in CPE and recent developments in accounting standards.
  • Experience of Large Entities & Listed / PIE covering a range of industries.
  • Experience of TCFD, GRI & Understanding of Audit regulations including IAS & FRS 102.
  • Management/supervisory experience – the ability to motivate, delegate effectively, develop a team and be a speaker.
