Due to growth and expansion GES Ltd are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Estimator to join our Graphics Team at the NEC near Birmingham.

Role Function

The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing design briefs and producing accurate and competitive quotes based on those designs. The Features Estimator will work closely with the design, project management, and sales teams to ensure that all projects are costed effectively, align with client budgets, and are executed to the highest standards.

Key Activities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Processing Design Briefs:
    • Review and analyse design briefs to fully understand the scope, specifications, and requirements of each project.
    • Collaborate with the design team to clarify any ambiguities and ensure that the design intent is clearly understood.
    • Assess materials, resources, and labour required based on the design specifications.
  • Quotation Preparation:
    • Calculate accurate costs for materials, labour, equipment, and subcontracted services required for each project.
    • Prepare detailed and itemised quotations that align with company pricing strategies and client budgets.
    • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or design integrity.
    • Ensure all quotations are delivered in a timely manner, adhering to deadlines set by the project management team.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Work closely with project managers to adjust quotes as needed based on design revisions or client feedback.
    • Participate in meetings with clients, designers, and project managers to discuss and refine estimates.
    • Maintain a database of costs, services, and suppliers to ensure consistency and accuracy in quotations.
    • Attend site to oversee project on occasions where seen as necessary
  • Supplier & Vendor Management:
    • Source and negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
    • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to stay informed about market trends, new materials, and potential cost variations.
  • Reporting & Documentation:
    • Provide regular reports on the status of quotes, highlighting any significant changes or potential risks.
    • Maintain accurate records of all estimates, quotations, and related documentation for future reference.

Salary

This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. We operate a reward strategy based on our team members receiving a salary that best reflects their experience and skill level.

Hours of work

Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5pm. On occasion you may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods to meet the demands of the business.

Annual leave

Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays).
