London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Exam Coordinator within our Student Operations Department.This department engages in various academic collaborative activities at a variety of levels and stages. The team have a strategic, proactive, user-focused, and fully integrated approach to student operations. It provides central support for students throughout their time at the University from admission through to graduation and to manage and develop a range of operations and systems which are key to the overall functioning of the Registrar’s Department.

This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to effectively lead and manage the University’s exam arrangements during the various main and resit opportunities in the academic year, including leading on the recruitment, training and allocation of invigilators ahead of exam weeks, working collaboratively with LSBU Employment. The postholder will be the face of exams at LSBU both for staff and students and as such will work with all key stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the exam weeks, whether exams are in person or online.

You will support and facilitate good communication between stakeholders, often dealing with sensitive and confidential matters in a time pressured environment, providing accurate information relating to all areas of marks preparation and delivery.

You will be responsible for managing the Exam Supervisor, including their recruitment, induction, conducting appraisals, one to ones, mentoring, training, staff development, allocation of workload and annual leave approval.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Extensive experience working as a team leader/manager in an education setting leading, managing and motivating a team and providing excellent customer service.
  • Experience of contributing into the creation and review of University policies, procedures, regulations and processes and substantial experience of applying and adhering to them.
  • Experience of implementing and standardising reporting requirements, using data to inform decision making and liaising with other service providers highlighting trends and suggested amendments to services.
  • The ability to use their own initiative to plan, prioritise and organise their own varied workload, in a timely manner, to approach challenges/problems in a flexible, creative and proactive way.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated, be highly motivated and possess the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders such as Schools, Professional Service Departments, students and other key stakeholders.
