The Executive Director, Digital & Technologies will lead and be accountable for programme delivery, strategic engagement and business development for the Digital & Technologies domain, with local, national and global impact.
Job Description
- The Executive Director, Digital & Technologies will engage at senior executive level with external stakeholders to provide thought leadership across the Digital & Technologies domain, involving businesses, government and innovation ecosystem senior leaders to shape innovation policy and delivery in the UK.
- The Executive Director will seek and develop collaborations to optimise impact, drive up private investment and build the most effective and connected ecosystem. They will inspire both externally and internally, by leading the development of the Digital & Technologies domain operating model.
- As a significant influencer across business, government, and other business innovation ecosystem leadership groups within Digital & Technologies, the Executive Director will invest to drive significant positive economic and societal impact.
Led by an ambition to generate commercial value, stimulate growth and deliver benefits to society at large, you will be a change maker at heart, with a demonstrated ability to challenge and change the status quo. A strong collaborative executive leader, the Executive Director, Digital & Technologies will thrive, both individually and collectively, as a member of a senior leadership team. You will be able to lead, coach and motivate high calibre and diverse teams to deliver economic and productivity growth through supporting innovative businesses.
Person specification
Essential Requirements
- Degree educated, or equivalent experience, preferably in science or technology
- Exceptional leadership capability
- Strategic leadership in business research, development or innovation in all or part of the Digital and Technologies domain
- Demonstrable achievement of results through influencing skills rather than direct control
- Working extensively and have significant industry experience across the Digital and Technologies landscape
- Successful management of multiple senior and executive stakeholders with conflicting demands and priorities
Desirable Requirements
- Proven record of managing programmes and delivering a broad range of benefits, across the Public and Private sectors
- Postgraduate and professional qualifications in business, leadership or innovation advantageous
