What will you contribute?

The Expert Business Consultant role is a senior position within Finastra core banking delivery projects, responsible for leading the functional area of retail and SME banking engagements with clients for both SaaS and on-premise engagements. Key responsibilities include leading client engagement from a functional perspective through the end-to-end engagement process. This includes management of client workshops and requirements gathering, system build, testing, enablement, UAT, and go-live, working as both a team lead and individual contributor, ensuring successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

The role is highly prominent and requires significant expertise in core banking processes across Retail and SME banking across multiple geographies. Candidates will need to maintain senior-level relationships with customers acting as a trusted advisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead customer engagements end-to-end across the project lifecycle to maintain continuity throughout the implementation
  • Input into project estimations and validation of requirements during the pre-sales phase
  • Understand and map the customer’s business processes to Finastra core banking systems
  • Schedule, plan and facilitate customer workshops during early project phases, including discovery workshops
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery and within-budget
  • Understand customer user journeys and business processes and align with system functionality and workflows
  • Define delta log items and work with Product Management teams to discuss and agree how they’re addressed
  • Lead the build phase of the project to ensure customer build and configuration meets initial customer requirements
  • Work with customer to define User Acceptance Tests and oversee testing process, and work with Product teams to resolve any highlighted issues
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing expectations and fostering strong relationships,
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success, appropriately managing any misalignment between customer requirements and product functionality, challenging customer where necessary
  • Maintain senior-level relationships with customers and act as a trusted advisor
  • Lead a small team of Functional Consultants, mentoring and guiding junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment whilst ensuring timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Maintain a customer-centric view and guide customers on their solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and client satisfaction

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in core banking projects and client-facing roles
  • Extensive expertise in core banking functional implementation
  • Experience of retail banking within European market segments
  • Understanding on bank accounting processes
  • Strong communication skills and customer engagement
  • Multilingual skills are beneficial with Spanish, German or Portuguese language skills preferred
