Job Description
The External Affairs and Campaigns Manager will understand policy and public affairs to coordinate campaigns that enhance Heathrow’s reputation. They will create engaging content for stakeholder engagement and lead the team’s measurement and evaluation metrics.
The role involves building relationships with key stakeholders, requiring travel across the UK. The Manager must thrive in a busy environment, prioritize issues, maintain Heathrow's reputation, work under pressure, and connect with diverse stakeholders.
This position is part of Heathrow’s Policy and Public Affairs team within the Communications function. The Manager will collaborate with colleagues to support campaigns and contribute insights to strategies and business priorities.
The role will require the individual to participate on Heathrow’s on-call Incident Response Team and will work outside of normal office hours as required including attending conferences and stakeholder dinners.
Your role will involve
- Collaborating with the team and Heathrow's communications agencies to develop, deliver, and coordinate Public Affairs and Policy campaigns that effectively communicate Heathrow’s unique role as the UK’s only hub airport to Public Affairs stakeholders.
- Establishing and maintaining positive and meaningful relationships with a select group of strategic stakeholders.
- Coordinating the creation of content and resources to support the ongoing engagement efforts of the Policy and Public Affairs team.
- Managing the team's measurement and evaluation metrics, providing quarterly reports to the Public Affairs and Policy team and senior leaders within CCC on team impact and progress towards strategic goals and sentiment within key stakeholder groups.
- Participating in an on-call Incident Response Team.

- A highly organised individual and has an understanding of the political landscape. They will be able to anticipate what is required for successful stakeholder engagement and be proactive in creating engaging content.
- An excellent team player and is able work with colleagues to develop campaigns that deliver for multiple stakeholders. They will take a proactive approach to updating and sharing information with colleagues.
- A creative thinker who is able to suggest different ways of doing things.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- This role requires a high level of personal resilience. The individual should be able to deal with highly pressurised situations and step in to support colleagues in the team where required.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
