We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to join our Facilities team in Midlothian.
Working as a Facilities Assistant you will be responsible for providing facilities support within the Midlothian Schools PPP2 cluster; this principally involves dealing with events via Helpdesk which will include, Security, reception, portering and caretaking services but also includes maintenance activities
What You’ll do:
- Carrying out routine checks and inspection of facilities and equipment.
- Undertaking minor maintenance work such as lamp changing.
- Providing initial response to any reported faults.
- Carrying out repairs to fixtures and fittings.
- Dismantling / re-erecting systems furniture.
- Some touch up painting and decorating.
- Moving all parcels, paperwork, materials, and equipment around the buildings.
- Assisting with minor and major moves within the school.
- Manage the signing in of Subcontractors for Skanska.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to use office computer systems including e-mail, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Must have Valid driver’s licence.
- Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise conflicting work demands.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
