Purpose of the Role
Join the Production Planning team as the Facilities Engineer where you'll be responsible for designing and delivering jig, fixture and tooling solutions as allocated to them by the Jigs and Fixtures Technical Manager. This role will play a pivotal role in driving the delivery of our product strategy as part of our Beyond 100 strategy towards electrification. Reporting into the Senior Process Planning Manager, your main responsibilities include;
- Produce designs for jigs and fixtures
- Development and implementation of facilities, equipment and technologies in line with the required timing and levels of approved investment
- Management of Jigs, Fixtures and Tooling procurement, from identifying solutions to handover of equipment including capability studies
- Apply Practical Problem Solving and Control techniques to pro-actively deliver solutions, mitigate risk and solve issues
- Ensure continual updating of technical knowledge. E.g. Liaison with Group Colleagues, Benchmarking, Training etc.
- Ensure facilities comply with all Legal Statutes
About The Team
The role is based within our Final Assembly and Powertrain department, we are responsible for the technical design and control of all production operations for both our main final assembly lines and the powertrain production department.
About You – Skills And Experience
- Experience of producing Jig, Fixture or Tooling designs using CAD, CATIA preferable
- Knowledge of Automotive Engineering including, sequence of vehicle build
- Experience of facilities project delivery, with the ability to collaborate cross functionally
- Preferred ONC/HNC/HND in Engineering discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
