About The Role
Fats, Oils, and Grease Management Technician
Location: Washington/Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Permanent (2 positions available)
Salary up to £43,666 (depending on experience)
About The Role
We’ve an exciting opportunity to join us as a Fats, Oils, and Grease Management Technician (known internally as Technical Advisor (FOG), completing reactive and proactive investigations where the root cause is fats, oils and grease (FOG). You’ll be working with internal and external stakeholders and customers to carry out detailed and robust investigations to reduce the impact of FOG entering the sewer network.
The role involves onsite technical investigations, accurate evidence gathering, case management, report writing including the team scorecard, and supporting the ongoing development of the FOG process.
You’ll be self-motivated and able to prioritise a demanding workload to ensure all site visits, communications and compliance checks are completed within the agreed timescales. You will be collecting evidence on site to identify the source of the issue, providing the customers with clear and concise compliance actions, and case managing each investigation through to compliance. You will liaise closely with our networks teams to provide updates on successes and areas of risk, and also with external stakeholders including local authorities and environmental health to persuade and influence positive change.
You’ll be actively encouraging proactive reduction in sewer blockages through interpreting data to focus preventative work, along with the provision of sound FOG related advice to operational departments and preparation of reports to meet internal and external (regulatory deadlines).
The role is a hybrid working role with the expectation to be in the office 2 days a week with the remainder of the week working from home, unless there is a requirement for you to be on site.
