Finance Manager

Finance Manager | 6 month contract | £400-450pd | Bristol - hybrid working ( approx. 2 days per week)

Altum Consulting are pleased to be working closely with a health charity who are going through some key changes across the finance function and wider organisation. This Finance Manager will join them on a 6 month contract to manage a small team, providing support, particularly with VAT matters for the charity.

Responsibilities

• Management of the Financial Accountant and Payments team and support with everyday tasks.
• Support with the completion of the annual report and accounts.
• Work closely with the FA and Interim FA to ensure data is captured correctly so that the charity's partial VAT is correctly calculated.
• Work closely with the Finance Systems Team (during a new implementation) to maintain the system integrity for VAT implementing changes as necessary.
• Support payments team in understanding how to set up invoice templates appropriately for VAT capture and any manual activity they need to undertake to capture VAT correctly at source
• Support the finance team in wider comms to charity about changes to VAT capture and reporting

Person Specification

• A fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIPFA/CIMA) with extensive post qualified experience
• Experience of and very strong knowledge and understanding of Charity VAT - essential
• Experience of managing a team, ideally through a period of change
• Ideally experience of Business Central
• Strong communication skills

The successful candidate will ideally be based in or around the Bristol area, to have access to the Central Bristol offices (hybrid - 2 days a week), however, flexibility may be considered if a suitable candidate is not local. They must be based in the UK however even though a more remote option will be available.

Candidates must be available for a June start and can commit for a 6 month contract.
