Main Duties and Responsibilities
The finance Manager role includes the preparation and production of statutory and monthly management accounts for the company. As a business partner, the person plays a key role in the planning and budgeting process of the company. The person will be responsible for advising and supporting the budget holders and business managers with their financial queries and contract tendering and reporting to external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, the role is vital in managing the financial resource and providing robust financial planning for the company.
You will play a significant part in the Annual Planning process, preparing budgets and subsequently forecasts on a quarterly basis. In addition, you will prepare and review monthly and annual management accounts for Budget Holders, querying and providing explanations for variances against budget/forecast and escalating issues to the directors with recommendations for action. You will also take the Finance lead in meetings.
You will also provide support on contract costing decisions ensuring financial viability of new contracts and projects.
Skills and Experience needed
You will be a fully or part qualified accountant with proven ability to communicate successfully with staff at all levels. An experienced finance professional with excellent IT skills, particularly Excel, and with experience of preparing budgets and forecasts. You will have excellent analytical skills and a proven aptitude for team working as well as being a self-starter with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications Required
A minimum of a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification, or equivalent proven experience. It is essential that you have at least a part-qualified professional accounting qualification (CCAB) or AAT with proven experience.
