Financial Accountant EMEA - Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

JSS are delighted to be working with a client based in Hemel Hempstead, partnering them on the recruitment of a new Financial Accountant position. This is an exciting time to join the business, the Financial Accountant EMEA will ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reporting, manage month-end and year-end closing processes and will help drive improvements to the overall efficiency of the finance department.

This is a great Financial Accountant for an ACA/ACCA qualified, audit/practice accounting firm trained accountant, who has 2-3 years industry experience, knowledge of IFRS & UK GAAP and VAT. Hybrid working is available - 2 days in the office.

The Role:

The Financial Accountant EMEA will be responsible for:

• Month-end closing; delivering month end closing and reporting
• Responsible for closing and reporting the financial results for the Holding company
• Technical Accounting - Responsible for the accounting and maintenance of processes to effectively report on sales allowances, stock and IFRS 16 leases
• Financial Reporting – Producing financial reports and updating accounting policies, including but not limited to production of annual statutory accounts and collaborating with external auditors
• Assisting the internal audit of subsidiaries and providing business process improvements
• Involved in tax compliance, including but not limited to preparing monthly VAT returns, providing analysis for corporation tax computations, considering transfer pricing implications, PAYE settlements and Country by Country reporting

Qualifications:

For this Financial Accountant role we are seeking an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with 2 - 3 years post qualification experience ideally in industry, who has:

• Trained in Audit and/or Accounts preparation in an accounting practice firm
• Good knowledge and understanding of IFRS, UK GAAP and VAT
• Consolidation experience is ideal
• Strong Excel and analytical skills are paramount
• Excellent communication skills being able to explain accounting concepts and procedures to the wider business

On Offer:

A base salary of circa £65,000-75,000 plus bonus and benefits; pension and hybrid working.
