We are recruiting for a
Financial Accountant to join us here at Octavius, on a 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract.
This is a hybrid role, based in our Head Office in Reigate 2 days/week.
We are a leading civil engineering organisation delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient transport solutions across the UK.
You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)
- Prepare accurate month-end and expenses journals.
- Reconcile balance sheets and resolve discrepancies.
- Conduct monthly VAT reviews.
- Provide finance input for systems projects (e.g., COINS ERP).
- Improve and document finance procedures, including compiling a finance manual.
- Support year-end audit and accounts processes, including preparing working papers and addressing auditor queries.
- Collaborate with finance team and business units to ensure accuracy and insights from financial information.
- Assist with Corporation Tax, other tax matters, and SAO requirements.
- Update the delegated authority and responsibility matrix as needed.
- Resolve CIS and VAT code queries from the business.

About You…. (what You Are Skilled At)
- Excellent knowledge of FRS102 or IFRS,
- A strong understanding of ERP systems,
- Good working knowledge of UK Corporation Tax,
- General knowledge of construction, infrastructure services or related sectors,
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Excel.
You'll Bring… (your Wealth Of Experience & Qualifications)
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent qualification/relevant experience),
- A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent qualification/relevant experience) is desirable.
