Financial Controller
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and commercially driven Financial Controller to join a dynamic investment firm during a period of rapid growth. This role offers the chance to work closely with senior leadership and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy across expanding real estate ventures, as well as supporting other emerging business areas over time.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Oversee financial operations and collaborate with external service providers to ensure seamless accounting processes.
- Deliver accurate and timely financial insights, focusing on:
- Preparation of quarterly financial statements and investor updates.
- Monitoring and reviewing key transactions, including capital flows and distributions.
- Ensuring precise calculations of fees and performance-based incentives.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable for investment entities.
- Forecast liquidity requirements to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Implement strong financial controls to manage cash movements, working closely with asset management teams to optimise cash flow from real estate assets.
- Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems in line with industry standards such as IFRS and FRS102.
Investment & Structuring
- Develop an in-depth understanding of investment holding structures, ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Working in tandem with the investment team on pre/ post deal activity
Investor Engagement
- Coordinate with external administrators to deliver clear and insightful financial updates to investors.
- Partner with asset management teams to streamline financial and compliance processes.
Business Operations
- Lead the coordination of financial reporting across corporate entities, including budgeting, cash flow management, and tax compliance.
- Support transaction execution by providing financial insights and deal support.
Who We're Looking For
Technical Expertise
- Degree from a top-tier university
- Chartered qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience in investment management, advisory, or real estate.
- Strong background in preparing financial statements, budgets, and management accounts.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with solid working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
