The Opportunity
A dynamic, high-growth international technology business is looking for a technically strong and driven Financial Controller to take full ownership of the UK finance function. Acting as a key operational link between the UK and overseas teams, this role is central to strengthening the company’s financial foundation as it scales.
This is a hands-on, process-oriented role that offers the opportunity to embed structure, implement scalable controls, and drive business-wide accountability. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership, bringing energy and clarity to a growing team and working closely with senior stakeholders to influence strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the UK finance team, spanning commercial and financial control
- Take full ownership of UK financial operations, including monthly close, reconciliations, and compliance
- Bring core finance processes in-house, particularly payroll, and implement efficient, scalable systems
- Oversee transfer pricing and US tax compliance with support from external advisors
- Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring integrity of data across the board
- Design and embed internal controls, policies, and procedures to support future growth
- Act as the key liaison between UK and overseas finance teams, driving consistency and communication
- Partner with senior stakeholders to drive performance, manage accountability, and support decision-making
- Manage external relationships including auditors, tax advisors, and other third parties
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture in the UK office
About You
- ACA qualified, ideally trained within a leading accounting firm
- Demonstrated experience in both large corporate environments and high-growth SMEs or start-ups
- Technically strong with a practical, hands-on approach to finance operations
- Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing teams
- Skilled in managing senior stakeholder relationships across global teams
- Energetic, proactive, and confident, someone who brings structure, momentum, and a strong leadership presence to the UK office
