Job Title: Finance Director

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to lead our finance functions in a hands-on, integrated role. This position is key to ensuring the smooth running of our financial operations, compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in finance and accounting and will play a critical role in enhancing our financial strength and supporting organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounts Management
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, and provide meaningful analysis to support strategic decisions.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting exercises, ensuring they align with organisational objectives.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management: Oversee cash flow to ensure liquidity, and liaise with banks and financial institutions as necessary.
- Tax Compliance & Audits: Ensure full compliance with tax regulations and manage tax return preparation. Work with external auditors during annual audits and address any resulting queries.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable to maintain a strong cash position and ensure timely payments and collections.
- Financial Controls & Process Optimisation: Maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets, and continuously improve accounting processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with department heads to align financial objectives with broader organisational goals.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning by providing insights on financial performance, cost management, and resource planning.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, supporting their professional growth and optimising their productivity.
Person Specification
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., ACCA) is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance and accounting, with proven expertise in reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of UK tax regulations, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- High standards of integrity and a proactive, hands-on approach to leadership.
