We have a fantastic opportunity for a Director of Finance UK to join the team on a full time, permanent basis. This role has been established to lead the delivery of effective and efficient financial operations in line with the organisational vision, strategy and values. OSG UK Head office is located at The Precinct, Warwick, CV34 6BY. We are planning to move to a new building at Prologis Park, Coventry, CV7 8PE with the anticipated relocation taking place in Q1 2026.
Partnering with the Board(s), Leadership Team comprising of the Managing Directors, and Directors of Education, Operations and People & Culture within the UK Region, the UK Director of Finance will lead a team to produce clear and timely financial reports, manage financial audits, review, improve and implement financial controls, and coordinate annual financial planning processes for the Region. Will also lead in financial strategy and grow and develop the team required for a high-performing finance function.
About You.
- Able to create, analyse and interpret information and produce actionable insights and recommendations.
- We need a "Doer" with a hands-on approach though also have the ability to think big picture and identify opportunities to achieve financial excellence.
- Able to provide clear direction to reporting staff and develop a cohesive team who are fully competent and accountable for the delivery of the Finance function.
- Able to plan effectively and respond positively to changing priorities
- Able to work effectively in a team, and with others, to build and maintain professional working relationships.
- Have strong knowledge and experience with financial and management accounting reporting systems and processes
- Have knowledge of internal control and continuous improvement methods
- Have knowledge of school regulatory and compliance requirements (desirable)
- Provide visual leadership and perspective within the Finance function and organizationally
- Strong experience in Project and Change Management.
- Have relevant professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA
- Up to 5 years previous financial and managerial accounting experience, preferably in an education setting.
- Membership of Professional Body (ACCA / CIMA equivalent) and/or financial institutions preferred

General:
- Take full ownership for all financial and governance processes including implementation and embedding of new finance system (Sage Intacct) as OSGUK goes through its implementation.
- Lead on data validation, UAT testing and training supported by the Global Finance implementation (UK based) team.
- Timely completion of monthly Operational, CAPEX and Funding reporting, statutory compliance deliverables and other Board reporting requirements.
- Analysis of monthly financial management reports for whole Campus and Department level for variances to budget, including presentation of results and insights to the leadership team and board
- Own the Operational, CAPEX and Funding budgets and monitor and report on performance including quarterly forecasting.
- Provide direction and advice to Heads of Departments and Campuses regarding financial and budgetary issues.
- Support the Campuses with training and advice on process improvement on internal control measures and segregation of duties
- Investigate and respond to issues emerging from audit findings and management internal reviews across the organisation, as and when required
- Coordinate and execute external audits to achieve favourable ratings and as required, fulfil data requests to help with timely audit completion
- Keep up to date on initiatives impacting financial processes and communicating these to the stakeholders
- Set in place appropriate standards for staff performance, behaviours and service levels and the upholding OneSchool’s ethos and values
