Kirklees Council are advertising this role on behalf of Fusion Housing.
Fusion Housing operates a Food Bank in the North Kirklees area for households experiencing food poverty. Our Food Bank service includes a skilled team of volunteers and paid staff who offer additional advice, support and resources to help people improve life skills and build confidence.
Through funding from the National Lottery Communities Fund, we are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Financial Inclusion Worker to join our Team. Your role will involve supporting people to develop effective strategies, improve budgeting skills and build financial resilience, reducing reliance on emergency food provision.
The Role Includes
- Conducting assessments to identify client financial situations and goals.
- Providing one to one coaching sessions which cover budgeting, saving, debt management and future planning.
- Creating and delivering group workshops on financial literacy topics.
- Supporting clients to access available financial resources and assistance programs.
- Collaborating with other professionals and community organizations.
- Supporting client involvement to help create an effective service.
The Qualities And Skills We’re Looking For
- Experience of financial coaching, benefits/debt advice, or other supportive roles.
- Ability to create and deliver dynamic and engaging workshops or group sessions.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, debt management, and personal finance principles.
- Appreciation of food poverty and how this arises.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire clients to improve their financial situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
